Starting as a local trim repair shop, Autocraft began by repairing seats and over the years, became well known for their custom seat covers. The seat cover kits gained popularity because they were designed to install over the originals and installed quickly for a permanent fit with hog rings. Until the mid 70's, Autocraft was only supplying the New England region. During this period, the original owner realized that making and keeping seat cover patterns would be worthwhile. During his ownership he had compiled over 3000 custom seat cover patterns ranging from the 1930's through the 1970's.

With the solid principles of utilizing quality materials, quality workmanship and quick delivery, Autocraft began to market its product with trim shops in the United States . During this period of rapid growth, Autocraft kept increasing and maintaining its custom seat cover patterns and material lines.

Since 1985, Autocraft has been in its present location, a 40,000 square foot production facility, in Ludlow , Ma. After moving, Autocraft began expanding further and acquired Cal Tex Mfg. of Long Beach , Ca. Through this acquisition, Autocraft was able to start selling and manufacturing automotive Slip-on seat covers in universal and semi-custom fitted varieties. These covers install over the originals and utilize strap hooks for ease of installation.

Currently, Autocraft has accumulated over 7000 custom patterns and also became a primary manufacturer in custom seat covers for the Auto Trim and Mail Order industry worldwide.

In 1999, another milestone was achieved. Autocraft began manufacturing true replacement interiors. These patterns, unlike the others, were developed to replace the originals. Also, Autocraft invested into the future with Gerber Cutting technology. This technology has allowed Autocraft to cut a variety of raw materials, precisely, quickly and efficiently.

Because of the Gerber technology and many years of experience in sewing, Autocraft has been able to expand into many different areas. Today, not only do we manufacture many types of Automotive interiors, we also manufacture interiors for the Limousine industry, Kit Car industry, Hot Rod industry, Taxi industry and various private label contract sewing projects.
